Toms River’s Indian Head Plaza Sees New Occupancies Despite Prior Pathmark Departure

TOM’S RIVER, N.J. --- Indian Head Plaza on Route 9 continues to fill vacancies after its acquisition last year. Ollie's Bargain Outlet newly leased the plaza's available Pathmark store and is projected to open its doors within three months. Ollie's is a national discount chain with three stores in New Jersey, and this new store acquisition is 30,000 square feet. Indian Head Plaza was acquired by JJ Operating Real Estate Investments in Toms River from a bank out of foreclosure within the past year. The plaza only had 20 percent occupancy when purchased. Notably, The Home Depot was not included in the agreement. A representative for JJ Operating Real Estate Investments told What's Going There (who first reported the story), "There are basically all new tenants now in Indian Head Plaza." JJ Operating also believes Indian Head Plaza to be garnering more attention from other food, health and medical stores and services. HobbyTown, Dollar Tree, Whistle Punk Hatchet Den, a children's basketball training center called See the Rim Academy, and Train Nation, a personal training facility, all signed leasing agreements within the last 6 months – Force Fitness lately opened its doors as well. From 4,000 to 11,000 square feet, new occupants have been occupying an assortment of store sizes.
