Kirby Peters has over 30 years of experience in the construction, maintenance, engineering and design industry that includes office buildings, airports, data centres and other high-tech facilities. Kirby is currently the Director, Critical Facilities for Bank of Montreal where he provides planning and facilities leadership and operation management oversight for mission critical facilities globally, including data centers, trading floors, call centers and select office towers. Prior to joining BMO Kirby spent 5 years at Hewlett Packard as the Managing Principle where he led the start-up of a Canadian consulting engineering practice specializing in Data Centre builds and optimization. This new practice enabled him to participate in several very exciting data centre build and retrofit projects as a consulting engineer. Prior to HP Kirby worked for Ehvert Engineering as a Senior Associate from 1997 to 2010 where he gained practical experience in the design and build out of critical facilities and Black & McDonald from 1985 to 1997, where he lead and participated in the business development, engineering, design build and operation of a wide variety of projects ranging from critical IT spaces to office buildings, army bases and airports. Kirby is a Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences, Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University, Kingston.
