McKinsey’s Jared Schober on Managing Cyberrisk: “Successful Companies are Leveraging Cybersecurity as a Business Differentiator”

DULLES, VA -- The closing Keynote of CAPRE’s 2020 Digital Infrastrucutre Outlook, “Managing Cyberrisk of Digital Disruption: The Mind of a CISO” touched on a subject that is increasingly top of mind for end-users and data center managers alike. Jared Schober, Cyber Specialist at McKinsey & Company asked the audience of 300+ to consider a few questions -- How do you secure an environment in the midst of a digital disruption? Furthermore, how do you manage that risk in the context of a data center environment that relies on numerous vendors and providers? He started the session by highlighting the recent, but relatively minor, CyrusOne security incident in December, in which Ransomware affected six customers (out of more than a thousand). “This didn’t get a lot of coverage.
