Matthew D. Ascher, Director, Northwestern Mutual

Matthew Ascher graduated with his MBA from Carnegie Mellon in 1989 and entered the corporate credit training program at PNC Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Upon completing credit training in 1990, Mr. Ascher held several positions in the Commercial Real Estate Department including loan production and workouts.  After moving to Washington, D.C. in 1993, Mr. Ascher took a Senior Regional Manager position at The Union Labor Life Insurance Company in real estate loan production.  While at Union Labor Life, Mr. Ascher completed over $300 million in new construction/permanent loans including investments in office buildings, multi-family, retail and hotels.  Mr. Ascher joined Northwestern Mutual in 1997 to build upon his career as an institutional quality real estate investor.  As a production officer of the company, Mr. Ascher is responsible for originating, underwriting, and closing both debt and equity investments in commercial real estate.  Since joining Northwestern, Mr. Ascher has originated over $2 billion in real estate equities and over $3 billion in mortgage loans.  Mr. Ascher’s most recent deal was the $305 million acquisition of Two Constitution, a 589,000 sf office building leased to the Department of Justice.

Steven I. Beyda, First Vice President, CBRE, Inc.

Steven I. Beyda is a Vice President Salesperson at CBRE, Inc. With 10 years of experience in the New Jersey Industrial Markets, Steven has represented owner/landlords and user/tenants. The build-to-suit transaction was notable for obtaining more than $30MM in state incentives for Peapod and brought 400+ new jobs to New Jersey.

As the Senior Property Manager for Prologis in the Baltimore/Washington market, Reda Duffy leads the Operations Team as they strive to provide best-in-class service to their customers while creating strong financial growth for the company.  Prologis owns 8 million square feet of industrial assets in the I-95 corridor and the Dulles, VA markets.  In previous jobs, Reda has worked for developers and institutional investors in the Washington, DC and Los Angeles, CA markets, maintaining class A office, retail, and industrial product.  While in the Washington, DC market, Reda opened and operated two management offices in Friendship Heights and Alexandria to meet the demands of clients and the company, KLNB/Hearn Burkley Management.  Reda’s favorite parts of the business are providing exceptional customer service, both internal and external, and training new property managers.

Mark Glagola, Senior Managing Director - Capital Markets, Transwestern

Mark Glagola is the senior managing director of Transwestern’s Mid-Atlantic Capital Markets Group. He specializes in investment sales, joint venture development and equity financing. Mark is a 29-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry. He began his career in leasing and now specializes in institutional acquisition/sales and development. In the last 16 years, he has been involved in the acquisition of over 14 million square feet of product for clients and executed over $5 billion in sales. In the past two years alone, Mark sold more than 3 million square feet valued at over $400 million. Some of his clients have included Cabot Properties, Industrial Property Trust, State Farm, Liberty Property Trust, ORIX, Invesco, AEW, American Realty Advisors, NYSTRS, First Industrial, Morgan Stanley, Principal Life Insurance, UBS and Atapco.

Lisa A. Goodwin, Senior Vice President, MRP Industrial

Ms. Goodwin has nearly 26 years of diversified commercial real estate experience and is responsible for identifying, executing and managing new commercial real estate development opportunities. She also provides development and leasing support for the company’s portfolio of existing projects. Prior to joining MRP Industrial, Ms. Goodwin was the Managing Director of 1788 Holdings and also served as Vice President of liberty Property Trust in the Maryland region. Mark Levy, Managing Director, JLL

Mark G. Levy is Managing Director and Mid-Atlantic Industrial Practice Group Leader for JLL. He also leads the firm’s U.S. Port, Airports and Global Infrastructure Practice. In the Mid-Atlantic, Mark has direct responsibility and oversight for all of the Practice Group’s activities in the region, including capital markets, agency and corporate occupier representation. Chris Massey, Senior Vice President, Brennan Investment Group

Chris Massey is Senior Vice President of Acquisitions for Brennan Investment Group. He is responsible for identifying industrial property investments throughout the mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States. Mr. Massey has more than 20 years of experience with over $4 billion of underwriting, acquisition and asset management of commercial real estate across the United States and Canada. Most recently, he was responsible for sourcing and analyzing office, retail, industrial and multifamily assets with a variety of clients for Magnolia Partners. Previously, he was Managing Director of Gladstone Commercial Corporation where he acquired single-tenant office and industrial assets throughout the eastern half of the United States and Canada. Prior to Gladstone, Mr. Massey asset-managed a portfolio of office and industrial properties in the Midwest and mid-Atlantic for Kennedy Associates Real Estate Counsel (now Bentall Kennedy, part of SunLife). Mr. Massey also worked in the cellular tower industry for Microcell Management and devised the structure that allowed for the sale of the company’s tower portfolio to a publicly–traded company. He started his career at J.E. Robert Companies and held several positions in both acquisitions and asset management during his tenure there.  Mr. Massey earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Tech and is active in his local community through his support of several charitable and social endeavors.

Kevin McGowan, President, McGowan Corporate Real Estate Advisors

Kevin McGowan is the founder of McGowan Corporate Real Estate Advisors. McGowan is a Broker of Record in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, West Virginia and Idaho (currently Inactive). Since 2004, McGowan has been an active industrial broker earning both the SIOR and CCIM designations. McGowan chose to work with users in the Lehigh Valley, Central PA, and NJ because he sees tremendous opportunities for corporations to leverage the logistics advantages of these key distribution locations. Thomas J. Meehan, Senior Vice President, DCT Industrial

As Regional Vice President – Market Leader, Mr. Meehan oversees DCT’s operations in the Pennsylvania and Baltimore/Washington DC markets. Based in DCT’s Baltimore office, Mr. Meehan leads our market team and directs our development and acquisition strategy. Mr. Meehan maintains our customer and broker relationships in the region. Mr. Meehan brings over 15 years of multi-market experience in the industrial real estate industry to DCT Industrial. Before joining our team in October 2008, he was a Vice President—Senior Asset Manager for Cornerstone Real Estate Funds in Conshohocken, PA, and he was responsible for their property operations in the Eastern U.S. region. Robert Provost, Founding Partner, Longpoint Realty Partners

Mr. Provost oversees the acquisitions and dispositions process and is responsible for acquisitions in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. He is a member of the Firm’s Investment Committee. Mr. Provost has held senior positions in major real estate private equity firms with a special focus on sourcing, negotiating and executing over $2.7 billion of acquisitions over a 25-year career. He brings an extensive network of relationships, enabling Longpoint to access off-market opportunities on the East Coast. Robert Provost joined TA Associates Realty in 2004 as a Partner in the Acquisitions Group, with primary responsibility for sourcing, underwriting and negotiating the purchase of industrial, office and retail assets along the East Coast. Mr. Provost was also a key player in the firm’s fund-raising activities. In this role, he was responsible for presentations to consultants, public and corporate pension plan boards, endowments and foundations. Prior to joining TA, Mr. Provost was senior vice president/director of real estate acquisitions and dispositions for the Eastern United States for KBS Realty Advisors. At KBS, he acquired and oversaw the disposition of commercial real estate assets totaling over $1 billion. Previously, he worked in the Real Estate and Restructured Real Estate Departments at the First National Bank of Boston. Mr. Provost holds a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Vermont (1985) and an MBA (cum laude) from Boston University (1990). His interests include ice hockey, guitar and travel.
