Svein Atle Hagaseth, Senior Vice President North America, Green Mountain Data Center, Ltd.

Green Mountain AS design build and operate high security, robust wholesale colocation data centres. We currently have two data centres in Norway with plans to develop in other regions.  The data centres operate on 100% low cost renewable power and use of  free cooling creating unique power efficiency. Both our data centres, DC1-Stavanger and DC2-Telemark have achieved Uptime Institute Tier III certification as the only Nordic colocation provider. In addition both data centres have the ISO 9001,  ISO 14001 and ISO 27001 certifications in place. The data centre near Stavanger (DC1-Stavanger)  is built deep inside a mountain in a former high security NATO ammunition store. The data centre in Telemark (DC2-Telemark) is in the ‘cradle of hydro power’ in Norway with multiple local hydro power plants. We are one of the largest operators in the sector in Norway with clients in Finance, IT, Government, Health, O&G and others.

Larry Baker, Director, BTECH

Larry Baker is a Director at BTECH, Inc. in Rockaway, NJ where he focuses on expanding BTECH’s presence in the data center, industrial, wireless communications and utility business sectors. BTECH, Inc. is the leading manufacturer of battery validation and monitoring equipment with a history of over 25 years of innovation. Mr. Baker is a graduate of Purdue University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science in Management. He has 30 years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry, including process engineering, product management, supply chain management and sales and marketing management. During his career he has lead global teams at large multi-national companies and has been an investor and core management team member at early stage and start-up companies.

Sami Badri, Senior Analyst, Credit Suisse

Sami Badri is a senior analyst at Credit Suisse responsible for the firm’s coverage of the Communications Infrastructure sector, including data centers, towers, and Internet fiber/infrastructure. Mr. Badri joined Credit Suisse in 2013 and joined the equity research department in 2014 as a research associate in the technology, media, and telecommunications group, covering the information technology hardware and global communications equipment sectors. Prior to Credit Suisse, Sami was a management consultant at PwC Consulting, working in the financial services strategy group, and attended the Pennsylvania State University where he received a BS in finance.

Fentress Boyse, Private Infrastructure, Partners Group (USA) Inc.

Fentress Boyse is a member of Partners Groups Americas Infrastructure Private Equity investing team, based in New York. Prior to joining Partners Group, he worked at Citigroup in New York on project & infrastructure financing transactions in the U.S. and across Latin America. He holds a master’s degree in energy studies and international finance from The Johns Hopkins University’s Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Washington D.C / Bologna, Italy. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Sureel Choksi, President and Chief Executive Officer, Vantage Data Centers

Serving as President and Chief Executive Officer, Sureel has over 15 years of experience as an executive in the Internet infrastructure industry. He is also a member of Vantage’s board of directors and Silver Lake’s Value Creation Team. Sureel was previously Chief Executive Officer of Elevation Data Centers, a private-equity backed roll-up vehicle. Prior to that, Sureel held several executive roles with Level 3 Communications, including Chief Marketing Officer, President of Wholesale Markets, Executive Vice President of Services, Chief Financial Officer, Group Vice President of Corporate Development and Treasurer. Before Level 3, Sureel worked in venture capital at TeleSoft Partners and investment banking at Gleacher & Company.

 

Gabe Cole, Managing Director, JLL

Gabe Cole is a managing director in JLL’s New England region, based in Boston. Gabe is an accomplished technology executive with over 20 years’ experience across data center, colocation, cloud, and network. He has worked engagements around the world. He is an expert at balancing reliability and performance requirements against technology and business limitations to consistently increase performance at progressively lower price points. In addition, he is frequently called on by investors for assistance with data centers, telco hotels, data center technologies, and service companies. Gabe founded and/or participated in a number of venture-backed emergent technology companies including RTE Group, Telwares, Virtustream, Verne Global, Enclave Properties, Ixpanse, and CO Space. Gabe joined JLL in February 2016, but had worked with the Boston team for many years as a consultant on data center and telco hotel projects.

Kent Hill, Senior Manager - Economic Development, Dominion Virginia Power

Kent Hill is currently Senior Manager of Economic Development for Dominion, one of the nation’s largest electric and gas utilities. He is responsible for management of the company’s economic development program, which includes support of local and state economic development efforts, new business development, and marketing outreach. He has been directly involved with the recruitment and location of several data centers and related mission critical facilities in the Virginia market. Kent is a Certified Economic Developer and a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. He holds a BS degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from North Carolina State University and an Energy Management Diploma from Virginia Tech. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Economic Developers Association and the Central Virginia Economic Development Partnership.
He is a current member of the International Economic Development Council, the Virginia Economic Developers Association, and the Southern Economic Development Council.

Tim Huffman, SVP - Director of Data Center Solutions, CBRE

Tim Huffman is a Senior Vice President and Executive Committee member with CBRE’s Data Center Solutions. With over 17 years of experience in data center operations and telephony, he focuses on providing advisory and transaction services for corporate clients requiring complex data center and technology strategies. As a leader in advisory and transaction services of data center real estate, Mr. Huffman provides clients with expert services in negotiations of complex data center outsourcing solutions involving colocation, cloud services, telephony, and managed services solutions. His experience includes data center dispositions, sale-leasebacks, and greenfield development. In addition, he provides strategic consulting services to IT leaders on data center consolidations and cloud services migrations. Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Huffman served as the National Director of the Technology Solutions Group with Colliers International. His expertise and experience lend themselves to collaborating across business, operations, technical, and real estate teams to strategize and deliver the best solutions to clients. From 2000 to 2011, Mr. Huffman served as an executive in the data center sector providing solutions and managed service offerings to global organizations. Prior to 2000, a successful entrepreneur taking several start-up companies to market. As an active member of his community and Grammy nominated recording artist, he regularly volunteers his time with the Shepard Spinal Center in Atlanta as a music therapist for injured veterans and those suffering from brain and spinal cord injuries. When not volunteering his time, Tim can be found performing or recording with musical talents such as Jimmy Buffett, Hall & Oates, the Zac Brown Band, Graham Nash, and Kansas.

Jim Kerrigan, Managing Principal & Founding Member, North American Data Centers

Jim has been a commercial real estate broker for over 25 years. He started representing tenants looking for data centres in 1998 when he represented Frontier Communications as the anchor tenant at 350 East Cermak. Since that time he has worked on transactions throughout the US and Canada and he has worked on transactions in 13 different states and two Canadian provinces. He will compare and contrast the US and Canadian Data Center Markets and will spend time introducing wholesale data centres.

Lee Kestler, Chief Commercial Officer, Vantage Data Centers

Chief Commercial Officer Lee Kestler is a data center industry veteran with extensive experience working with hyperscale and enterprise customers. Recent positions include DuPont Fabros Technology, which he joined in early 2007 to spearhead leasing and marketing efforts. After leaving DFT in late 2015, Lee formed Kopend Ventures, LLC where he focused on management consulting for several firms. In particular, he managed a 300MW development project in Palm Beach County, Florida where Lee led the successful effort to get a data center sales and use tax exemption approved by the Florida Legislature. Lee is an advocate of low carbon and renewable energy solutions and is an advisor to Innovation Crossroads company at Oak Ridge National Labs. Lee attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where he majored in Computer Science.

Brian Klebash, President & Founder, CAPRE's International Data Center Series

Brian founded CAPRE, an integrated digital media and events company, in May 2010. The company commenced operations in 2011 and is based in Hoboken, NJ. The company’s International Data Center Series is the largest regional conference series in the U.S. for mission critical executives. The series expanded to Canada and Europe in 2016. While leading CAPRE, Brian has received special recognition from the City of Jersey City for The New Jersey Gold Coast Summit. In addition, he was nominated for a data center leadership award by The American Advanced Technology & Cybersecurity University for The Southwest Data Center Summit. Prior to this role, he worked for a myriad of media-related companies. He has been affiliated with reputable media organizations since age 15 including radio, TV, newspapers, internet sources and events. He graduated from Emerson College in 2000 with a degree in journalism. At Emerson, he earned four Associated Press awards while serving as one of the managers of his college’s nationally-recognized radio station. He also hosted blues, folk and international music-oriented programs as a student DJ.

Bob Kramlich, Vice President - Atlanta, T5 Data Centers

Bob is VP of Enterprise Services for T5 in Atlanta. His primary role is to help T5 customers optimize workloads and create better alignment with the demands of their businesses. Bob helps his customers evaluate a combination of managed services, professional services & connectivity services so they can focus on better serving their customers’ needs. Bob brings a wealth of Managed Services, Cloud & Colocation experience to the table. Prior to joining T5 Kramlich served as both an Account Manager and Enterprise Cloud Specialist for SunGard Availability Services. He also spent time as a Cloud Channel Manager at Cbeyond. More recently Bob served as an Account Executive at Savvis/Centurylink, helping customers understand how to leverage consumable infrastructure service models.

James Leach, Vice President Marketing, RagingWire Data Centers

James Leach is Vice President Marketing at RagingWire Data Centers. Previously he was a global marketing executive at IBM, Savvis, Internap, Neustar, and Harris Corporation. Over his career, James was part of the core business team developing internet, telecommunications, and infrastructure solutions, including: DNS security, web domains, performance monitoring, vertical industry solutions, content delivery networks (CDN), virtual private networks (VPN), cloud computing, and data centers. At RagingWire, James is the overall marketing leader responsible for a data center portfolio of 1.2 million square feet and 97 MW in the United States and a global data center platform of 140 locations as part of the Nexcenter brand of NTT Communications.

Drew Leonard, SVP, UPSTACK

Drew Leonard has over 15 years in the Data Center industry. Most recently, Drew held the position of Vice President of Colocation Product Management for CenturyLink.  Drew entered the industry with Palo Alto Internet Exchange (PAIX), which was a pioneer in the market, delivering some of the first true carrier neutral Internet exchange points across North America.  His experience at PAIX was instrumental in understanding the need for seamless interconnectivity between network providers, service providers and enterprises to drive new capabilities and deliver truly unique end-user experiences.  Following PAIX’s acquisition by Switch and Data (SDXC), Drew spent seven years learning the data center business.  He moved to Savvis in 2009 where he focused on building interconnectivity within the data centers and establishing a stronger foundation of carrier diversity.  In 2011, Drew drove product integration of the Savvis data center business into CenturyLink.  Between November, 2015 and May, 2017, he helped spearhead the successful sale of the CenturyLink data center business to BC Partners and Medina Capital. Drew is a resident of the global data center mecca, Loudoun County, VA.

Twyla Powell joined the Henrico County Economic Development Authority in January 2016 as Business Attraction Manager and leads the international and domestic program for attracting new business investment and jobs to Henrico. Most recently, she worked with Facebook in their location decision for their Henrico Data Center. For the previous eight years, she served as Business Development Manager at the Virginia Economic Development Partnership where she won economic development projects with companies such as GE, Siemens, Alcoa, Huntington Ingalls Industries, and Continental Corporation. Prior to her economic development career, Twyla was employed by IBM for fifteen years and held positions in systems engineering, business development, and management. For five years she was employed by AT&T in project management and network design positions. Twyla, a native of Henrico County, graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.S. degree in Biology and from Virginia Commonwealth University with an M.B.A. She is a PMI-certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Twyla currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate and is a member of the Virginia Economic Developers Association. Ms. Sheehan is a Principal and the Director of Mechanical Engineering at CCG Facilities Integration Incorporated in Baltimore, Maryland, a consulting firm providing professional engineering, facility planning, technology management, commissioning, and management consulting services for mission critical and technology-intensive facilities. She oversees analysis, design, implementation, commissioning, technical management, and design quality assurance for mechanical engineering components of all mission-critical and data center facilities projects. Sooner born and Sooner bred, I am a Tulsa, OK native who has chosen to raise a family of four boys in my hometown. Between homework, baseball practice, and a massive grocery store habit, I have spent the last twelve years helping companies protect what is most important to them – their employees and their assets. Providing a service and assisting clients with solutions are important functions of my day to day activities. From working with the neighbor down the street to Fortune 500 companies, I have experienced a tremendous amount of joy in my career and look forward to what the future brings.

Dallas Whitaker, Chief Portfolio Manager, Carter Validus

Dallas Whitaker has served as Chief Portfolio Manager at Carter Validus since May 2017. He is responsible for overseeing acquisitions and portfolio leasing activities. He also works closely with the product group on new product strategy and structure and fundraising support activities for Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT II, Inc. He joined Carter Validus in February 2015 as Senior Vice President overseeing the product development group and supporting fundraising activities. Mr. Whitaker has a 32 year career in commercial real estate, predominantly working with and advising public and private institutional real estate owners, developers and investors. Over his career, he has participated in over $5 billion of acquisitions, development, leasing, fundraising and asset management activities. From 2007 through February 2015, Mr. Whitaker founded and led Greystone Equity, LLC, a commercial real estate investment and advisory firm focused on value add real estate investments, including the acquisition of four data centers, and collective assets under management of approximately $200 million. Prior to forming Greystone, he spent 8 years as a senior executive with Colonial Properties Trust, a publicly traded real estate investment trust focused on the office, retail and multifamily sectors. Earlier in his career, he worked with three regional and national real estate investment and development firms, JMB Realty Corp, Carter and Associates and Daniel Corporation, where he focused primarily on leasing, development, brokerage and property management. Additionally, Mr. Whitaker has been very active in several local and national real estate associations and organizations having served on the boards and as chapter president of NAIOP, CCIM and the Real Estate Investment Council of Tampa Bay. He received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Furman University and enjoys sports, travel and spending time with his family.
