- STACK INFRASTRUCTURE to Expand Data Center Presence in Chicago: STACK INFRASTRUCTURE has announced plans for a significant expansion of its Chicago data center campus. The future development will be adjacent to STACK’s existing facility, which currently offers 13 MW of critical power and 221,000 square feet of space. The new multi-story data center will offer at least 20 MW of additional critical capacity with the possibility of additional growth, bringing STACK’s total capacity at its Chicago data center campus to at least 33 MW. STACK’s offering includes hyperscale campuses and build-to-suit data centers, immediately available wholesale colocation and private data suites, and powered shell options.
- GIGA Data Centers Officially Opens 60 MW Colocation Facility in Mooresville, NC: GIGA Data Centers, a new breed of data center provider creating affordable, hyperscale power facilities with unprecedented energy efficiency, has officially opened its CLT-1 Data Center in Mooresville, NC with a grand opening event that includes facility tours, a ribbon cutting ceremony and remarks from local officials. The new facility leverages a highly energy-efficient modular design first used in turnkey installations provided to enterprise companies and agencies including the U.S. Department of Energy. The data center is connected to the High-Reliability transmission lines fed by two Duke Energy power generation plants supplying green and renewable electricity.

- Hyperledger Welcomes Diverse Line-up of New Members, New Identity Project: Hyperledger, an open source collaborative effort created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies, has announced a diverse line-up of eight new members, including Ethereum Foundation, Microsoft, Nornickel and Salesforce. Hyperledger also added a new identity infrastructure project that spotlights interoperability, cross project development and broad community involvement. Hyperledger is a multi-venture, multi-stakeholder effort hosted at the Linux Foundation that includes various enterprise blockchain and distributed ledger technologies. With the recent launch of Hyperledger Aries, there are now a total 13 projects in the Hyperledger greenhouse.
