On July 8, CAPRE's President and Founder, Brian Klebash, caught up with Douglas Mouton, who has worked with Microsoft since July 2015 in various roles, including General Manager Global Data Center Execution (DCX), General Manager Construction and most recently, General Manager Global Datacenter Procurement and Construction. Mr. Mouton is based in the Seattle region. Prior to Microsoft, Mr. Mouton worked at Jacobs and served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 33 years. Specifically, Mr. Mouton answered the following questions: * Where are workloads going today (public cloud, private cloud, colocation/wholesale, edge)? * How has COVID-19 impacted decision making about migration to public cloud services? * How is Microsoft expanding its footprint in the northwest region? * Is Microsoft likely to continue to build and operate its own data centers? And, how will Microsoft work with colocation/wholesale players going forward? * Are there any key takeaways, for you to date, working in pandemic environment? * What is the most important challenge for data center operators/providers today?
